You can switch now. The Irish analogue terrestrial TV service will be switched off in the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday October 24th.
However the Irish digital terrestrial TV service, Saorview, has already been switched on. Therefore you can switch NOW to Saorview and avoid the rush and panic.
